Véronique Ducharme is interested in the negative space left by the absence of the human body. She photographs forms created from clothing: portraiture that is void of the living. The images she constructs are comfortably familiar and yet seem to mysteriously elude us; the result is a body of work that explores the similarities between human otherness and the process of photography as an experience of loss. Véronique Ducharme is a Canadian artist based in Montreal. Her works have been part of group exhibitions in London, Vancouver and Montreal. She completed a BFA in photography at Concordia University in 2007, and graduated from the MA in Photography at London College of Communication in 2010.
