Artist statement
The photographic work of Celia Perrin Sidarous outlines a strong interest in material life -material as in matter- and examines the human individual in relation to its environment. Through an approach that favours observation and description, the images exist as fundamental elements of a poetic visual language; each a fragment of a larger concept. While creating dialogue between the various images that compose the work, formal research is at the heart of the process while underpinning the ideas at hand.
