Matthew Hood was born and raised in Montreal. His artistic practice is photographic and documentary based. He has travelled to the remote areas of Uganda and Tanzania to produce work that deals with the political upheaval of these poverty stricken nations. Currently, he is working in a much more conceptual manner, whereby he is exploring his relationship with his late mother through emblematic objects. Matthew Hood's background is in Cinema and Communications, and he just completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a Major in Photography, at Concordia University.
