Biography

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Tammy Salzl moved to Montreal in early 2008. She began formal studies at The Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary and received her BFA from the University of Alberta.   For several years Salzl's work has been is rooted in figurative oil painting and is driven by her interest in examining humanity.   She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Toronto and Edmonton, is the recipient of a Banff Centre residency and an Alberta Foundation for the Arts grant, and has an upcoming solo exhibition and residency at the Odd Gallery and KIAC institute in Dawson City, Yukon, 2009.
