Con todo mi afecto was created in Mexico City between 2009 and 2010. For this project, Josée Pedneault built a collection of objects of which their value is exclusively sentimental. Following a public call for participation, 24 Mexico City residents took part in the project by providing an object and its story. In exchange for each object, Josée created a work of art. The result is a compilation of 24 artefacts and stories, as well as the documentation gathered throughout the process of the project's creation. In this project, Josée Pedneault is questioning notions of value, currency, and attachment/detachment that are inherent to contemporary culture.
Con todo mi afecto is a utopic project that attempts to create a small world where the sole worth of objects is based on their moral and sentimental value. Con todo mi afecto creates a breach, a brief moment outside of our time, where it is possible to envision a society that functions differently.
An exhibition will accompany Josée Pedneault's limited-edition artist book on the project Con todo mi afecto .
The project launches the éditions Les Territoires.
