LES TERRITOIRES MANDATE Les Territoires contemporary art gallery is a non-profit organisation that provides emerging artists with a rental exhibition space. By integrating emerging artist solo exhibitions with professionally curated projects, Les Territoires provides a professional context for young artists to integrate into the art market. With the objective of achieving national and international recognition from artists and curators in the world of contemporary art, Les Territoires supports the presentation of various local art events, festivals and projects presented by professional curators. Programmed by a selection committee, the primary objective of Les Territoires exhibition space is to promote and disseminate the work of selected exhibiting artists. The gallery invests in the success of art exhibitions by providing the design of an electronic invitation as well its circulation through the gallery's comprehensive mailing list which includes other nationally recognized art institutions. Les Territoires also provides the design and guidance to artists who would like to circulate printed invitations. Artists exhibiting in solo or duo exhibitions will be dedicated a page on Les Territoires website. Additionally, the artist retains the total sale of artworks. PROGRAMMING/ SELECTION COMMITTEE The programming at Les Territoires contemporary art gallery is created through the revision of submissions of individual artists and curators. In adherence to an open and dynamic approach to programming, the selection committee is composed one or many Territoires administrative council as well as invited jurys from the professional artistic community; art critics, galerists, artists, curators and art historians. COLLABORATIONS AND EXCHANGES Exhibitions, projects and events at Les Territoires reflect a multi-disciplinary approach to the dissemination of art practices and will act as a place where exchanges and contacts can be made. Under this context, Les Territoires encourages the collaboration between young critics and emerging artists, either through the composition of accompanying exhibition texts or by an intimate and thorough consideration of the artist's practice. Such collaborations will initiate a relationship between visual artistic practice and written text.
